BEST SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY – TIDY TOWN IN TASMANIA
Every town or village in Tasmania is eligible to enter.
POPULATION CATEGORIES
- Best Sustainable Community – Tidy Town in Tasmania with a Population Under 5,000
- Best Sustainable Community – Tidy Town in Tasmania with a Population Between 5,000 – 15,000
- Best Sustainable Community – Tidy Town in Tasmania with a Population Over 15,000
AWARD CATEGORIES:
1. WASTE PREVENTION AND REDUCTION
A project that focuses on minimising what goes into landfill and assists in creating a circular economy.
2. HERITAGE AND CULTURE
A project that recognises outstanding commitment to the conservation and celebration of a community’s heritage and culture.
3. ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABILITY
A project that contributes to a more sustainable environment through initiatives such as water and energy conservation and increasing biodiversity.
4. COMMUNITY HEALTH AND
WELLBEING
A project that contributes towards a more resilient, accessible community with healthier, happy people.
5. BEHAVIOUR CHANGE CAMPAIGNS AND EDUCATION
An educational campaign or program that results in empowerment and positive behaviour change
6. LITTER PREVENTION
A project that takes action to address local litter issues.
7. LOCAL HERO
A local hero who stands out in the community for taking steps towards a more sustainable future.
8. YOUNG LEGENDS
An individual or group of people all 25 years or younger who demonstrate an outstanding contribution to any of the
categories.
9. BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION
A project that contributes to a more sustainable environment through initiatives such as water and energy conservation and increasing biodiversity.
10. PLASTIC-FREE COMMUNITIES
A project that inspires local action to eliminate plastic waste and protect our environment. Creating a cleaner future through plastic alternatives and a promoting a different purchasing mindset.
