Sustainable Schools Awards 2021

All Tasmanian schools were invited to apply for up to $2,000 towards a project to improve sustainability in their school.

Keep Australia Beautiful Tasmania is looking for creative, impactful project ideas ranging from saving resources and improving habitat to ensuring personal and cultural rights are respected.

Any project with sustainability as the primary objective will be considered.

Entries will be assessed on the school’s ability to:

1.Identify a sustainability project which includes youth participation

2.Describe the problem or project objective

3.Outline the steps to be taken to create a project that solves the problem or achieves the objective

4.Complete their project by 24th September or provide a progress report if the project is ongoing or part way through

5.Most importantly….. Specifically identify and budget how the funds will be spent

Keep it simple and have fun improving sustainability within your school. KABTas will provide feed- back and encouragement to ensure that you feel supported.

Eleven schools were successful with their applications. Due to the generous support from the Tasmanian 

Government, Hydro Tasmania and Mars Wrigley, each school received funding of up to $2,000 for a project to improve sustainability in the school. 

The 2021 Selection Criteria and Flyer are still available below for information only. Criteria for the 2022 Program may change but the sustainability in schools objective will remain the same.
