Wynyard’s active and diverse commitment to building resilience through health, education,cultural and environmental projects is empowering many sectors of the community. The 'I Am' project which was also offered in Smithton, and Project O, empower and support young women through activities designed to build resilience in the face of the challenges of inequality and stereotyping. SevenUp youthc entre, which is based on the Smithton model, provides a safe place for students to socialise and study. Waratah - Wynyard Council’s YPlan, or youth plan, is one of three new plans developed in partnership with Circular Head Council to address the needs of the well beingof the community. Plans have also been formed to create an Age Friendly Community as well as an overall Community Health & Wellbeing Plan. SpencerPark Inc. fulfils the important need of affordable social housing.

The Live Well garden space and the Wynyard Community Garden are nurturing the skills of aspiring gardeners as well as providing companionship and learning from each other while sharing a cuppa or a bountiful harvest. The Wynyard RSL’s poignant photo murals were also a highlight of Wynyard’s Keep Australia Beautiful Sustainable Communities submission.
