Sustainable Schools Award - High School

New Norfolk High School

The New Norfolk Green team are doing a great job keeping the school inspired and on track with their sustainability goals and achievements. In 2018, 30 students, staff, families and community members had a working bee and created an outdoor classroom with seven new raised vegetable garden beds. The Kitchen garden scheme ensures that waste from the abundant produce grown in the garden goes to composting which in turn creates and feeds the soil ensuring that the healthy and nutritious cycle of the kitchen garden continues.

New Norfolk High School lesson plans are also connected to targeting waste and are aimed at linking the theoretical and practical element.
