Mars Wrigley is a proud sponsor of the Sustainable Schools Program Awards. The program is unique in that it educates children at a time of life when they are interested, receptive and influential in their social networks about issues impacting the environment. By partnering with Keep Australia Beautiful Tasmania, Mars Wrigley is working to instil a high level of environmental consciousness in younger generations, and create habits that continue for life.
The State Government has been a major sponsor of KAB activities for many years and we are very appreciative of that support. The Government has been a keen advocate of recognising the contribution of Tasmanians to their communities, whether they be small towns or cities. The importance of local care to maintain sustainable environments is critical to the health and wellbeing of all.
For over 12 years we have been delighted to sponsor accommodation for the Tasmanian Keep Australia Beautiful judge on his annual state-wide tour. We support the aims and ideals of KAB’s Sustainable Communities programs lead by the iconic Tidy Towns. This is its 33rd year of continuous operation. Innkeepers also applauds the initiatives of the Australian Food and Grocery Council in funding KABTAS in a $230,000 pilot program to reduce litter and increase recycling and supports the proposed roll out of a National Bin Network to be funded by industry to the tune of $100 million over 5 years to achieve similar results across the country. Our group looks forward to ongoing engagement with KABTAS to progress these initiatives.
